The 2021 Holiday Tag

Although I’m not doing Blogmas this year & technically I had announced I’m on a blogging hiatus for the month of December – I just couldn’t NOT do this tag when VictoriaStMichael tagged me on Twitter. Be sure to check out her post here. I figured this would be a fun way to celebrate the holidays with you all & these tag posts don’t take much effort to put together like my usual content. So, I hope you enjoy! I won’t be tagging anyone specific – so whoever reads this & is interested in doing this tag themselves – GO FOR IT! And with that being said, let’s getting into these questions….

What is your favorite holiday movie?

It’s honestly so hard to choose just one favorite because I have an entire lineup. Jim Carrey’s version of the Grinch is one I quote religiously & find the movie more and more relatable the older I get.

Other favorites include National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life, Daddy’s Home 2 & The Holiday to name a few.

What is the best way to celebrate a Saturday in December?

If I have no obligations or plans – my favorite thing to do is sleep in & watch Christmas movies & possibly order food in – which is a favorite thing my fiance & I do most weekends when we aren’t busy. But I also love going out & looking at Christmas lights either through neighborhoods or local areas. In the Baltimore area – which is 30 minutes from where I live, they have their very own Miracle on 34th street which is so fun to see during the holiday season. Just be sure you bundle up & have some hot chocolate to stay warm.

What’s your favorite holiday song?

If you don’t watch vlogmas videos on Youtube you definitely should! And basically, someone’s intro song was Snowed in by Hansen. So, that one has been on repeat. But another favorite is by the Jonas Brothers & it’s called Like it’s Christmas. Anyone else a Jo Bro back in the day? My favorite was Joe & I may or may not have had posters all over my closet door. LOL

What do you typically eat during the Holidays?

So many foods come to mind & is making me hungry as I’m typing this – but the usual things like turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing. Kind of like Thanksgiving 2.0. But I also love the baked goods like chocolate chip cookies [ which I always try to make & replicate my Nana’s recipe], sugar cookies, fudge….I’m clearly such a foodie.

Clearly I got a head of myself….so just re-read the previous question’s answer.

Which fictional character would you want to spend the holidays with?

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been re-watching Downton Abbey – but I would love to spend my Christmas with all the characters from that show. Just picture that castle decked out in holiday cheer. The drama that would probably occur [ i mean most holidays need a little family drama to spice things up – am I right? ] . The royal elegance of it all – the outfits, the food, the decor & the festivities. Yes- please.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen & Rudolph.

Where would you like to visit during the holiday season?

NYC for sure – I haven’t been since 2015 but it was so magical & pretty! The Rockefeller Christmas tree [ which was cut down in my state of Maryland this year – woot woot! ] is a must see! I love going on a horse & carriage ride in Central Park, shopping on 5th avenue & checking out the restaurants. Some place I haven’t been to yet is the UK & every time I see holiday photos of say – London for example, I about die in how beautiful it looks. So, I’m putting that one my bucket list. I’d also love to see an international Christmas market because the US just doesn’t do them justice.

Do you like receiving gifts or giving gifts better?

Shopping for others can be stressful – but I do enjoy giving gifts more than receiving. Sometimes [ not to sound rude ] but I’ve received gifts I just don’t use. It is the thought that counts though. But this is why I prefer gifting & receiving experiences over material items. Above all else – I believe the best gift you can give & receive is the gift of quality time with friends & family. Check out my gift guides here & here.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

Does an engagement ring count as a gift? I’m going to count it because when Todd proposed to me back in May, having the gift of us being together forever & starting a life together officially was the best thing ever. It’s more so, what the ring symbolizes over the actual ring though. He could have proposed to me with a ring pop! But the fact the diamond was his grandmother’s engagement ring makes it even more sentimental & special. *chef’s kiss*

Like I said, I tag whoever is interested in doing this tag for the holidays. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season & make tons of wonderful memories. Cheers!

  1. I loved reading your answers to this, Bee!! FYI, I was also a Jo Bro in my early teens and my favourite was ALSO Joe! And I mean, it still is, honestly. Hahaha. Also, your taste in Christmas movies is impeccable. A Christmas Story is SO good!

  2. I do prefer the newer grinch cartoon one- I love the addition of the big moose & Max is a dachshund in that one!! (looks like one to me anyway)

The one thing my familly love to do “different” for christmas, is our Crab dip! an absolute must in my culture’s houses- many different recipes, some with gelatin some not, but we’re personally using my grandmother’s one ๐Ÿ™‚ Otherwise one holiday would have the turney and new year would get the ham; the pineapple ham is my favorite! (though I actually don’t like pineapple alone ๐Ÿคฃ)

I’d like- just for once- to have a warm christmas. All my life we’ve had snow and crappy cold weather, how insane would it be to be able to go swimming with the warm sunshine!!
    Happy holidays! xx

Have to ask if you are from Maryland because you mentioned crab dip ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™ve always wanted to go to some place warm for the holidays as well. But I love the snow too! โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

  6. Iโ€™m celebrating this Saturday in December by going on an art studio walk with a group of women in the downtown area. Itโ€™s good to support local artists and buy creative gifts. I also love attending craft fares every December for this reason.

  7. LOVED reading your answers! I also love The Holiday and I try to watch it at least once a year. Sometimes I wait until New Year’s Eve, though. And bring on the Christmas cookies. The only problem with bringing them into my house, though, is that I am often still eating them in February, LOL. So it’s better if I just hit up holiday parties and graze at the cookie table. ๐Ÿ™‚ I loved Downton Abbey! Still, my top holiday character to encounter at Xmas would be a magical Santa who gives me advice or grants my wishes. Second best would be Mrs. Miracle coming to stay in my home and get us straightened put once and for all. Happy Holidays!

  8. I loved reading your answers to these Christmas themed questions! One of my favourite things to do over the Christmas is go for a drive around all the houses and see the lights too. There’s a house near my friend’s house who decorate so much every year it has now become a charity thing and he is sponsored to add more and more lights and people come and donate to see them.
I love all the same Christmas movies as you too ๐Ÿ™‚
